Vikalp’s Resource Centre for young people located at Obra Khurd village, near Gogunda, Udaipur. The location of the centre has been selected with care as it will be accessible to youth of entire Gogunda Block. Essentiality of Resource Centre as an own permanent spaceto conduct Empowerment activities in cumulative wayhave been felt while driving awareness programs since 2016. The Centre houses many activities.
The Resource Centre will have e- Lab having computers. The Lab will have more than 20 laptops. Center will be open for children from surrounding villages to come in and learn how to use computers and the internet. Communities will have greatly benefited from this. Local Tribal Children will use the space for other such activities such as workshops, trainings sessions, help with school work, and resources such as a library, sports equipment, and sewing machines. And the uniqueness of this centre will be, it will provide short-stays to girls who are unable to stay in their homes due to conflict or violence, we will also have support for girls who wish to re-enrol in school or pursue other education methods such as competitive exams.
The Centre will have a training and meeting hall loaded with projector, white board, bulletin board, audio-visual system, a dormitory and can host more than 100 participants at a time. Vikalp Staff meetings, Capacity building programs, workshops, Computer Trainings, intern Programmes will routinely held. Special features of this Space will be based on environmental, social and legal consideration which will make the space Eco-friendly, people friendly and rule abiding or legalised.
This resource centre will prove to be fruitful tree for target users of rural tribal girls, boys and women as well by empowering up to 10000 of the most vulnerable and at risk girls in next 5 years and will make Vikalp and Mundo Corporate’s dream come true.
