- Create sense of justice, equality and independent thought among the community.
- Sensitization and mobilization of youth, women, survivors of violence, community stakeholders, on gender issues
- Directly engage with male decision makers say for instancefathers, husbands, brothers and sonsby seeking mobilization and to change discriminatory norms and practices by being a role model in family and community
- Encourage and aware men to challenge the norms perpetuate gender violence
- Provide possible support to advocate for policy changes
Our Approach
To achieve goals, Vikalp works through the integrated approach to create violence-free society supported by following below interconnected domains;
- Conducting public awareness campaignsled by youth volunteers, Changemakers and community partners
- Conducting discussion forums at local level
- Advocating local governments/ institutionsand community leaders.
- Building People’s capabilities: Motivating community members to address gender-based issues through various networks and support groups as well as links with government and other institutions
- Raising awareness in local media and increasing coverage on issues around violence against women
- Sensitizing mento the experiences and challenges being faced by women and girls
- Holistically empowering survivorsof violence, providing women with access to legal services, counseling, and regular follow-up
- Developing and encouraging self-respect and self-worth in women and young girls, to assist women in recognizing their inherent value and strength.
